Hey guys! When I am on the range and am trying to make my 600yd shots I seem to be having some drift on my impacts. My elevation seems to be correct since I see my deviation mostly in my left or right. Do you have any tips on wind corrections?

Here is a follow up of some more wind stuff I have been working recently as well and putting up on my YouTube/IG platforms.
Hey Solo!
Thank you so much for your response. I went out to the range this past week and ended up trying to use some range flags to help me determine wind since I was shooting a target on a piece of plywood with other shooters. So it made it difficult to use my optic to make corrections. I did however notice that I was not grouping very well. I was shooting some stuff on the cheaper side (145gr M80) but I was still hoping to at least be able to group at 100yd. My position seems to be okay and I don’t think I am “muscling“ the gun. I figured I would at least be able to group SOMETHING (2MOA or 3MOA). Any suggestions on ammo??? For reference I am shooting an AR10 with a 16” barrel with a 1:10 twist.
Well that's not too complicated of a situation to understand theoretically.
There was obviously wind which I am sure you noticed while you were shooting. If you did not notice it at your position then there was definitely wind down range between you and the target.
So the easiest way to solve this on the spot is to look at where your shot missed and use your reticle to measure back to where you were aiming then apply that hold or dial that correction into you windage turret. EX: If you missed left .5 mils then you need to hold right .5 or dial .5 right on your turret.
You can get much more in depth as to what the wind speed was doing at that range and which bullet you were shooting and some other factors to determine how the wind is determined to affect you bullet.
Hoping to get some online programs available in the near future for guys to purchase and view to learn how all this works. BUT since that is not currently completed and available just let me know what other questions you have and I will gladly answer them here in the forum for ya!
